What is involved in being part of this team?

The Prayer Ministry team are available to pray with people, either during or after a Sunday service and sometimes at other points in the week. We try to give space to God in our services in order that we can respond to spoken word or song in prayer.

How often do I serve as part of this team?

As often as you are able.

Do I need to have relevant experience?

No. We hope to offer training for Prayer Ministry Team in the near future.

What type of person are you looking for?

We are looking for gentle people who are passionate about lifting issues to Jesus in prayer but sensitive to people's vulnerabilities. You don’t have to be a prayer warrior, you don’t need to know your bible inside out - simple prayer is all that is required. The Prayer Team offers prayer and a listening ear, not advice or human solutions.

What is involved in being part of this team?

The Hello & Welcome team is responsible for the experience of our church and visitors during Sunday gatherings. This team comprises many of the key functions that make our gatherings happen. They are the first point of contact for people coming through the door, or provide information on the church and our weekly programs, acting as connection points into the life of the church. They provide warm hospitality through chatting to people, serving tea and coffee, taking care of the flow of people in and out of the church, and helping with the running of the service.

How often do I serve as part of this team?

On a Sunday, team members serve in the morning services at church. You can serve as often as you like. The Hello & Welcome Team usually arrives 30 minutes before the first gathering begins for preparation and pre-gathering prayer, and usually are finished clearing up and resetting the building by 30 minutes after the service finishes.

Do I need to have relevant experience?

No experience required! We will provide all the information, tools and training as you go. Just bring a smile!

What type of person are you looking for?

Anybody who loves serving people and hospitality, or people with strong organising and administrative skills.

Youth Fellowship Team

What is involved in being part of this team?

Most of our youth worship at Encounter and then go along to YF where there is the opportunity to eat brownies and deepen relationships with one another and with God. Serving in Encounter or YF are chances to build relationships with the Youth, to invest in them and to journey with them through their teenage years and faith.

How often do I serve as part of this team?

This depends on which group/s you are able to commit to. Ultimately with Youth ministry being all about building relationships the more present team can be the better, so we ask for a minimum for twice a month?

Do I need to have relevant experience?

No – just a heart for Youth, a willingness to get involved, and an openness to growing your skills

What type of person are you looking for?

We are looking for people who are committed to caring for the Youth and wanting to journey with them in their faith. This may look like someone who is warm and loving, willing to get stuck in and put the Youth first as they listen to, engage with and lead them through the sessions. You will need to be familiar with the parish’s safeguarding policy and undergo a DBS check on entry to the Youth team.

What is involved in being part of this team?

A regular Sunday in the day of the life of an ekids Team member would include arriving 30 minutes before the start of the service. There will most likely be games, stories, crafts, worship and prayer activities that we encourage the kids to get involved in. We also have ekids Team meetings which is a fantastic chance to get to know others within the team better and receive input and guidance on how to maximise the Sunday sessions.

How often do I serve as part of this team?

As often as you’re able.

Do I need to have relevant experience?

No - just a heart for Kids, a willingness to get involved, and openness to growing your skills
