Thy Kingdom Come

Between 25th May and 1st June we will be holding a series of prayer events as part of Thy Kingdom Come. The first of these is a time of Food and fellowship with Holy Communion on Thursday 25 May at 6.30 pm at the Church of the Good Shepherd.

Heswall Parish is taking a lead in Chester Diocese with the prayer event Thy Kingdom Come, which has been initiated and supported by the Archbishop of Canterbury. Between 25th May and 4th June families, individuals and churches will be meeting to pray that their friends, families and neighbours get to know Jesus Christ.

In Heswall Parish we are offering two supported daily prayer events, on the following days: Friday 26th May, Monday 29th May, Tuesday 30th May, Wednesday 31st May, Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd June. Over these six days prayers will be lead at St Peter’s Centre at 12.30pm and then laler at the Good Shepherd at 8.00pm. We are planning for each event to last 30 minutes, though we will be dependent on the Holy Spirit!

On the Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd June we are then planning for people to share in  the Big Church Day Out at Capesthorne Hall, where the line up is fabulous! Sunday 4th June we’ll celebrate Pentecost and pray together in church.

Our 9 days of prayer for Thy Kingdom Come will begin with a Food and Fellowship event on Ascension Day Thursday 25th May at 6.30pm at the Church of the Good Shepherd. We’ll be including Holy Communion and serving a light supper. We would encourage any Home Groups that meet on Thursday evenings to join in with this evening. To help with catering, please let us know you’re coming by signing lists at the back of each church or replying to the Parish Office. We look forward to encountering God in a powerful way and to pray for our own evangelism and witness within Heswall.
