Staying Connected….

Prayer & News Sheet
Sunday 22nd March

What a week!? Pause—and know that God is in control. In the place
of fear and anxiety, God invites us to faith and love. We have talked
often of being “whole life disciples” of Jesus, his people the church,
sometimes gathered together (on Sundays) but more often dispersed
in everyday life (Monday—Saturday). Current circumstances require
us to find new ways of being the church—new ways of gathering for
worship (largely online) – new ways of supporting one another in
every day life. More than every we need to support one another and
seek God’s empowering to “be church” in the place he has put us.

Revd. Martin Cannam

No public worship will take place at St. Peter’s or the Good Shepherd
until further notice. Instead we will be gathering online for:

Sunday Worship @ St. Peter’s, Heswall
@8am we will email a link (and post to our Facebook page) a video of
more traditional worship filmed at St. Peter’s with a hymn, Bible
reading, sermon, liturgical prayers & communion.

Heswall Church Live
@ 10.30am we will provide a live Facebook stream to contemporary
worship, Bible reading, talk and interactive prayers

Encounter Live!
@ 6.45pm we will use Zoom for multi-site, interactive worship led by
young people, with contemporary worship, talk for young people,
and prayer response. YF will get to dial in first; others will join later.

Sunday worship will be taken down each Sunday at 9pm

Staying Connected
if you are part of a life group, ministry team or small group, we’re
looking to use these as our principle means of staying connected and
caring for one another. We’re asking leaders to initiate weekly contact,
prayer for one another, practical help and spiritual resources.
We’ll be making much more use of email and our Facebook page.
We’re working hard to ensure those not on email or in groups are all
included.

Looking to Serve
The current situation summons us to look outwards to the needs of
others. There are 3 simple forms of service all Jesus people are called
to: 1) action “love your neighbour”, “Let you light shine before others
that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
2) words “In your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to
give an answer to everyone who asks you to give a reason for the
hope that you have.” 3) prayer “the Lord is near, Do not be anxious
about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with
thanksgiving present your requests to God.” Act, Speak. Pray!
