The Singing Café, a community based project, was the brain child of Christine Youngman, pianist (right), who got a few people together to help lead the singing and we were off.
Drop in for a drink and snack on Wednesday mornings between 10.30am-12pm. You sit at tables and join in singing to the piano from song books that we have provided.
We have a three-fold purpose:
- Promoting health. Whether you can sing well or not it is great for your lungs and well-being!
- Meeting others. A warm, friendly atmosphere where you can meet for a chat and a cake!
- Bringing sunshine. The kind of joyful music you might singalong to on the radio, but why not join us and we can sing along all together!
Everyone is welcome, alone or with friends. Some just sit and enjoy the music, and we hope everyone leaves feeling happy and uplifted!
Every Wednesday at the Church of the Good Shepherd, near to the bus station on Telegraph Road.
