Meet Andrew Field-Davies

We are really pleased to be able to announce the appointment of a new  Children and Family Leader who will be joining the Staff Team this January……

It is with great pleasure that I have this opportunity to introduce myself to you all at Heswall. My name is Andrew and I have just turned forty. Instead of looking for grey hairs on the morning of my birthday I reminded myself that the number forty holds great significance throughout the Bible! It rained for forty days and forty nights, Jesus fasted in the wilderness for forty days and Moses was on top of a mountain for forty days, then wandered throughout the wilderness for forty years! However, after these times of testing and probation (never judgement), it ended with periods of revival and renewal! So, I am excited for this new season in my life as I come and serve alongside you all.

Born and raised in the mining valleys of South Wales and overlooking the beautiful Brecon Beacons I had an idyllic childhood. Part of a close-knit community where everyone was Auntie and Uncle, I was nurtured in a very loving environment.  I always attended church with my family and knew the Lord at a young age.

At the age of 27 I left the land of song and sheep and moved to the land of shell and chemical plants, overlooking the picturesque views of the Mersey just outside sunny, Ellesmere Port!   But, at least we have Cheshire Oaks and a large M&S!  No, we really do love living here and my family and I have been so blessed over these years having seen the Lords hand move on our lives in many ways.

For the past five years I have overseen the children’s ministry at Life Church, Bebington. This is where I helped develop, train and lead the team in all areas of children’s work both within the church and in the community.

During this time I have also been blessed to be part of the national leadership team for children’s ministry in Assemblies of God called iKids, where I was able to work along- side many churches in the North helping with training, resourcing and communicating with one another.

It has been a wonderful season with so many highlights and amazing testimonies of God’s Saving Grace. I know that the preparation and training ground I have had thus far is just the beginning of this incredible journey I am about to embark on with you. Please pray for God’s guidance and wisdom as we start this new chapter as a family.

Speaking of family, this brings me to the most important part of my life after God. I am married to Helen and have four children:  Neo 17, Ben 14, Emily 10 and Levi 18 months.  We have a very busy, loud and exceptionally happy household. We love playing games and are known for our competitiveness! Our house is always open to anyone who dare venture in and we love to host. Our heart is for people and we truly love to share what we have.

I look forward to beginning my work in January and getting to know you and the community of Heswall.
